Senzor prašine i kvaliteta vazduha, detekcija PM2.5 čestica

The DSM501A is a low-cost, compact dust sensor module that uses the principle of light scattering to measure quantitative particle density in the air. It is widely used in applications like air purifiers, air conditioners, and air quality monitors.

Key Features and Specifications

The sensor is designed to detect airborne particles as small as 1 micrometer (µm) and outputs a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal proportional to the particle concentration.
• Operating Principle: The module contains an infrared LED and a photodetector. A built-in heater generates a forced airflow, and the sensor measures the scattered light from particles that pass through the detection area.
• Particle Detection: It is capable of sensing a range of particles including house dust, pollen, mites, germs, and cigarette smoke.
• Output: It provides two PWM outputs (Vout1 and Vout2) for different sensitivity requirements. Vout2 is set to detect particles >1µm by default, while Vout1 is set for >2.5µm, but can be adjusted with an external resistor.
• Ease of Use: The sensor operates on a 5V DC power supply, making it compatible with hobbyist platforms like Arduino and Raspberry Pi for DIY air quality projects.
• Physical: It is compact and lightweight, with dimensions of approximately 59 x 45 x 20 mm.

Applications
• Air cleaners/purifiers: Used for automatic control based on detected dust levels.
• Air conditioning and ventilation systems: Integrates with systems to monitor and improve indoor air quality.
• Environmental monitoring instruments: Provides a cost-effective solution for basic air quality monitoring stations.
• DIY projects: Popular among makers and students for building custom air quality monitoring systems.
